Manon Coolen Returns to DDEA as Education and Networking Coordinator

DDEA welcomes Manon Coolen back as DDEA Education and Networking Coordinator.

Manon previously held the same position at DDEA and now returns after a period in research, including a postdoctoral position in obstetrics at Odense University Hospital and University of Southern Denmark.

A Background in Psychology and Diabetes Research

Manon studied psychology in the Netherlands and has a research background that includes a PhD in diabetes. Her experience from both research and coordination gives her a strong understanding of the research community she will now be working with again.

Supporting Early-career Researchers

One of the main reasons for returning to DDEA is the opportunity to support researchers at an early stage of their careers.

“I have been an early career researcher myself and know the challenges that come with that stage. At the same time, I have experienced how valuable the networking opportunities from DDEA can be.”

She is particularly looking forward to working closely with early-career researchers and contributing to activities such as the DDEA Summer School and the DDEA Postdoc Summit.

Creating meaningful events

In her daily work, she is motivated by collaboration and by organising activities that bring the community together.

“Working together with a team to organise events that matter for the research community is something I really enjoy every day”

We are very pleased to welcome Manon back to DDEA and look forward to the initiatives she will help develop for the endocrine research community.
