Danish Diabetes and Endocrine Academy only collects personal data in relevant cases and will only collect personal data if it is relevant for your activity at the website. What personal data we collect in which cases is stated below under What we collect.

What we collect

We may collect the following personal data:

  • Personal identification including your name and gender
  • Contact information including your email address and telephone number
  • Employment information including sector, place, and country of employment as well as your work title

For reimbursement and honorarium forms we also collect your social security number and banking details.

Danish Diabetes and Endocrine Academy collects and processes your personal data when you do the following:

  • Create a user account
  • Register for an event
  • Fill out an online reimbursement or honorarium form
  • Sign up for our newsletter
  • Send us questions, complaints or feedback

Terms of use

Danish Diabetes and Endocrine Academy only use your personal data in relevant cases and will only use your personal data if it is relevant for your activity at the website.

We will only keep your personal data for as long as we are under a legal obligation to do so, or as long as it is relevant to the purpose for which it was collected. We are obligated to report our activities such as events and grant allocations to the Novo Nordisk Foundation at the end of our grant agreement and will therefore keep your data for this purpose.

Your information (except your e-mail address, if you have consented to its processing for the purpose of receiving newsletters) will be deleted at the latest by 31 March 2028 (our last reporting date to the Novo Nordisk Foundation).

Newsletters

If you have given us your consent to this during the registration or submission process or on our website, we will use your e-mail address to send out a newsletter. You can subscribe to and unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. All newsletters contain a link to unsubscribe. If processing of personal data is based on your consent, you have the right to revoke consent at any time.

Other recipients of personal data

We do not sell or transfer your personal data to third parties and we do not transfer your personal data to third countries.

This website is hosted by Marginal ApS, Netkant Aps and integrated with Mailchimp, which acts as our data processors. All personal data that you provide on our website will be stored in Marginal ApS, Netkant Aps, or Mailchimp’s data centers.

We use external companies as suppliers to deliver our services in the best possible way. These external suppliers are data processors and in certain cases process personal data in connection with their provision of services to us. Our data processors only process personal data according to our instructions and in accordance with the legal requirements for data processors.

Your rights

As the registered person, you have a number of rights, which we must ensure fulfillment of at all times. You have the right to request the following from us:

  • To access and correct/change your personal data
  • To have personal data deleted

You also have the right to object to the processing of your personal data and you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

Purpose

In addition, we use the information to optimize our services and content.

Period of storage

The information is kept for the period of time permitted by law and we delete it when it is no longer necessary. The period depends on the nature of the information and the background for storage. It is therefore not possible to specify a general time frame for when information is deleted.

Disclosure of information

Data about your use of the website, which advertisements you receive and possibly clicks on, geographic location, gender and age segment, etc. disclosed to third parties to the extent that this information is known. You can see which third parties are involved in the section on “Cookies” above. The information is used for advertising targeting.

We also use a number of third parties to store and process data. These only process information on our behalf and may not use it for their own purposes.

Dissemination of personal data such as name and e-mail etc. will only happen if you consent to it. We only use data processors in the EU or in countries that can provide your information with sufficient protection.

Insights and complaints

You have the right to be informed of which personal data we process about you in a common format (data portability). You can also object to the use of information at any time. You can also revoke your consent for information about you to be processed. If the information processed about you is incorrect, you have the right to have it corrected or deleted.
