100 years ago, the hormone glucagon was discovered. Glucagon is an essential regulator of human metabolism, and increased levels of this hormone contributes directly to diabetes. Although 100 years have passed, glucagon actions and the regulatory mechanism(s) controlling its secretion are still investigated and debated. During the glucagon conference, the 100 birthday of glucagon was celebrated by exploring known and unknown aspects of the enigmatic hormone.
