Thirty early-career researchers and seven visiting researchers will advance knowledge in diabetes, osteoporosis, obesity, thyroid disorders, and other hormone-related fields with grants from Danish Diabetes and Endocrine Academy (DDEA). This is the academy’s largest one-time allocation to date.
In addition to DDEA’s traditional PhD Scholarships, Postdoctoral Fellowships, and Visiting Researcher grants without specific themes, DDEA has included three strategic grant schemes focusing on international partnerships, collaboration with life-science industry, and classical endocrinology.
“By introducing thematic grants, we create new opportunities for early-career researchers while also addressing critical areas in endocrine research. These grants foster national, international and industrial collaboration and innovation, and provide early-career researchers with unique opportunities to tackle global challenges in diabetes, metabolism, and hormone-related disorders with dedicated resources,” says Troels Krarup Hansen, Chair of DDEA’s Board of Directors.
Encouraging collaboration between Danish and international partners, these new grants promote knowledge sharing and global networking for early-career researchers.
Examples include:
Bridging academia and industry, these grants equip early-career researchers with skills to navigate and innovate across both academic and industrial settings.
