The Strathclyde Optical Microscopy Course is an intensive hands-on practical course covering from the fundamental principles of optics and photochemistry to advanced systems, smart microscopy, and image analysis. This is a 9-day light microscopy course designed for PhD students, early career researchers, newly independent group leaders, research technical professionals, and imaging facility managers who are using light microscopes in their work and who wish to upskill in practical optical imaging.
No experience necessary! Lectures will be complemented with practical sessions, from basic to advanced microscopy.
The event is open to PhD students, early career researchers, newly-independent group leaders, research technical professionals and imaging facility managers who wish to have a strong grounding in the optical physics and photochemistry for using microscopy to the highest level in their research
Imaging spans all biological research and this course is for any researcher from any discipline!
