DZD International Diabetes Research School: September 13 – 15, 2025 in Vienna

The DZD International Diabetes Research School is organized by the German Center for Diabetes Research (DZD), a national association that brings together leading German research institutions and universities specializing in metabolism and diabetes research. This annual event is a key component of the DZD NEXT program.

Early career scientists (PhD & medical students, postdocs, young clinicians – up to 35 years) are invited to join for interesting talks by:

  • Prof. Miriam Cnop (BE) | IPSC-derived beta cells to study monogenic diabetes
  • Prof. Thomas Scherer (AT) | Interorgan crosstalk – from brain to periphery
  • Prof. Martin Jastroch (SE) | Energy expenditure in (brown) adipose tissue
  • Prof. Jan Kornfeld (DK) | Transgenerational effects in metabolism
  • Prof. Elke Ober (DE) | Mechanisms of liver regeneration in zebrafish
  • Panel discussion | Future of obesity and Diabetes Management: Innovations in medications vs. lifestyle interventions

Participants are invited to present their own research in a poster or short talk. Networking and discussion rounds invite participants to exchange ideas and get to know each other.
