The purpose of this symposium is to explore new aspects of epidemiology in rare endocrine diseases and how new methodology has changed the landscape of several rare conditions. We will also focus on how genomics is changing the way we view rare endocrine condition, both in terms of pathophysiology, but also how genomics is changing the way we diagnose these conditions.
We will also focus on how development of new drugs is accelerating and how these new drugs can improve lives for patients living with rare conditions. Focus will also be on neonatal diagnosis and how this may change in the future, as well as the embryology of endocrine glands is currently being elucidated.
Participants will be presented with the newest developments within the epidemiology, genetics and genomics, medicinal development and diagnostics tools within the realm of rare endocrine diseases. The symposium will cover areas that are currently moving from the research arena to the clinical arena. As such, the symposium will provide up-to-date information both concerning clinical development and also new research tools currently being applied within endocrine research.
