The Symposium on Clinical Metabolic Physiology 2026 is the seventh time that we will gather researchers to exchange knowledge, share ideas about methodological challenges within clinical metabolic physiology, i.e. physiology/pathophysiology of obesity, type 1 and 2 diabetes and other metabolic and endocrine disorders.

The programme will focus on new or older investigative models, technology or methodology with issues that are relevant to be deliberated.

The meeting will also include networking and interactive group work where you get a chance to discuss methods and come up with solutions to different challenges.

We hope that all participants will take an active part in discussing challenges and solutions and that the meeting will inspire new projects and facilitate new collaborations between national and international research groups both in academia and in the life science industry in the future.

The symposium is intended all researchers (translational and clinical) with an interest in clinical metabolic physiology, which focuses on physiology/pathophysiology of obesity, type 1 and 2 diabetes and other metabolic and endocrine disorders, irrespective of their career status (i.e. master project students, PhD students, postdoctoral fellows, research assistants, professors, etc.), scientific discipline or affiliation (academia, clinic, industry etc.).

The participants are selected on a first come, first served basis.

Please note that you are not guaranteed a seat at the symposium if you do not meet the target group requirements. Priority is given to participants employed at Danish research and health institutions or in the life science industry, but a number of seats are reserved for participants employed at research and health institutions or in the life science industry abroad. If the event is overbooked, the DDEA reserves its right to select participants based on the defined requirements.

Dinner registration
The DDEA organises a networking dinner on 13 November. Participation in the dinner is free of charge. Please sign up for the dinner upon registration, and indicate whether you have any dietary requirements.

Latest cancellation date & no-show fee
Please note that it is free of charge to participate in the event however the DDEA will charge a no-show fee of 1000 DKK if you do not show up and have not unregistered from the event by 6 November 2026, except in the case of illness and emergencies.
