Nutrition and Dietary Strategies in Prevention and Management of Diabetes

Nutrition and Dietary Strategies in Prevention and Management of Diabetes

Current Topics in Diabetes Research

Join us for this symposium to discuss perspectives and scientific challenges related to nutritional and dietary strategies in prevention and management of obesity and diabetes. We will discuss current recommendations and emerging research that potentially can challenge our current understanding of healthy diets and lead to new dietary recommendations in the future.

At the symposium, we will bring together scientists from a range of disciplines and sectors to discuss dietary strategies in prevention and management of obesity and diabetes. We will discuss current dietary recommendations for people with diabetes and look to the future by delving into emerging research topics. We will:

  • discuss the potential role of low-carbohydrate diets in prevention of obesity and management of diabetes
  • bring forward opposing views on the role of ultra-processed foods and their role in obesity to feed a discussion of their role in dietary recommendations
  • discuss how nutrient sensing in the gut and communication with other organs impacts the physiological response to foods
  • view dietary strategies from a sustainability perspective by discussing how we achieve diets that are healthy for both people and the planet.

The ambition is to promote networking and collaboration across scientific fields, as well as between academia and industry.

We are excited to host this symposium at Arla Foods, a global dairy cooperative that is owned by farmers and has a vision of “Creating the future of dairy to bring health and inspiration to the world” in a sustainable way.

Plese note, the event is not an Arla Foods event. The programme was built as a collaboration among scientists working in academic research and the food industry. The presentations of the speakers are independent of Arla Foods’ research, development and operations.
