Do you want to learn more about the crossfield bridging paediatric and adult endocrine care? Are you curious about the ESPE/ESE 2025 Congress in May in Copenhagen?
Join us this April for an engaging day of science, collaboratively organised by the Danish Society of Young Pediatricians (YP), the Danish Society of Young Endocrinologists (FYEN), the Danish Endocrine Society (DES), and the Danish Diabetes and Endocrine Academy (DDEA).
Together, we will dive into the intersection of paediatric and adult endocrinology, focusing on the critical transition from paediatric to adult care and addressing the unique treatment needs and challenges faced by these patient groups.
As we explore these topics, we will foster meaningful connections with one another. By discussing and bridging perspectives across disciplines, we will deepen our understanding, while providing you with a valuable opportunity to expand your professional network and strengthen collaboration across sectors and regions.
Additionally, you will gain insights ahead of the joint Congress of the European Society for Paediatric Endocrinology (ESPE) and the European Society of Endocrinology (ESE) 2025 in May in Copenhagen, making this an ideal occasion to exchange ideas, learn, and build connections prior to the congress.
We look forward to welcoming you this April for a day filled with knowledge-sharing, collaboration and inspiration!
This scientific networking event provides early-career researchers, younger paediatricians, and specialists in endocrinology with a valuable opportunity to delve into the critical transition from paediatric to adult care, exploring unique treatment needs and perspectives.
At the event, we will focus on three engaging and interactive sessions, designed to inspire dialogue and deepen understanding as we explore key topics in paediatric endocrinology:
Fetal Developement and Reproductive Function in Child- and Adulthood:
We will dive into how fetal programming shapes future health outcomes and tackle the complexities of diagnosing and managing disorders of sexual development, such as precocious puberty and disorders of sexual development (DSD). Our focus will encompass the diagnosis and treatment of these conditions, following patients from childhood through to adulthood.
Obesity Management in Children and Adults – And the Occurrence of Type 2 Diabetes in Children:
We will examine the medical and ethical challenges of weight loss interventions in children, considering both surgical and medical treatment approaches while addressing the psychosocial impacts these conditions may entail.
Genetic Endocrinology:
Together, we will uncover the latest advancements in genetic endocrinology, focusing on hereditary endocrine syndromes like pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma. We will discuss the delicate balance between the benefits of early screening (genetic and clinical disease screening) and the potential harms for paediatric patients and young adults.
Throughout the day, time is dedicated to engage and network with fellow participants, offering you the chance to expand your professional network across sectors and connect with attendees of the upcoming joint Congress of the European Society for Paediatric Endocrinology (ESPE) and the European Society of Endocrinology (ESE) 2025 in Copenhagen this May.

The networking event is jointly organised by Danish Diabetes and Endocrine Academy (DDEA), Danish Society of Young Endocrinologists (FYEN), the Danish Endocrine Society (DES) and Danish Society of Young Paediatricians (YP). The organising committee includes:
This networking event is intended members of the Danish Society of Young Endocrinologists (FYEN), Danish Society of Young Paediatricians (YP), and all early-career researchers and clinicians with an interest in pediatric and adult endocrinology. Specialists or other stakeholders in these fields, seeking to expand their knowledge and professional network are also warmly invited to participate.
Participants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Final confirmation and additional event details will be provided to you by e-mail after the registration deadline.
Please note that you are not guaranteed a seat at the event if you do not meet the target group requirements. Priority is given to participants employed at Danish research and health institutions or in the life science industry, but a number of seats are reserved for participants employed at research and health institutions or in the life science industry abroad. If the event is overbooked, the DDEA reserves its right to select participants based on the defined requirements.
