Newsletter February 2022

Yesterday, we released the podcast series ‘Postdocs Talking – from Research to Society’, which focuses on how academic researchers can build bridges between science and several important sectors of society: language when engaging people with diabetes, funding for research, innovation and its relation to industry, policy-making, education and social media, and art in scientific representation. The podcast series is a result of the DDA Winter School for postdocs last year in November, and I am grateful for the commitment shown by the early-career researchers. If you have any ideas or comments after listening to the episodes, please feel free to contact us.

I know that it is still winter, but the DDA PhD Summer School committee has worked very fast this time, and we have already opened up registration for this year’s Summer School, which will take place in the last week of August. This year, we will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Summer School, and, as always, for four intensive days, PhD students will have a fantastic chance to mingle and discuss science with national and international experts within the field of diabetes and metabolism.

I encourage you to stay updated about our upcoming events on our website.

All the best,

Tore Christiansen
Managing Director
