Newsletter May 2021

Where are they now? During the past month, we have interviewed some of our former DDA-funded researchers to get a glimpse of their lives and to hear about their career paths. Theresia Schnurr is now at Stanford University; Ekaterina Maslova is now Associate Director of Epidemiology, AstraZeneca; Rugivan Sabaratnam is doing a postdoc at Oxford University and Marianne Kristensen at Novo Nordisk is telling about the strange job titles in the pharmaceutical industry. We will have more stories to share in the future.
We have opened registration for a two-day course on childhood obesity at Cambridge University, United Kingdom. It is the fourth time we are collaborating on a course for early-career researchers with the Cambridge Metabolic Network, and the ambitions are as always to promote collaboration between experienced and early-career researchers from Denmark and Cambridge University.
For those of you who have applied for DDA funding for PhD scholarships, postdoc fellowships and visiting professorships, we will inform you of our decision on 3 June.
As always, I encourage you to browse through our educational and networking programme on a regular basis – we expect some of the current and future activities to be fully booked very quickly. The programme is listed on our website.
All the best,
Tore Christiansen
Managing Director
