The voices of national and international junior researchers and the result of a powerful group work at the DDA Winter School in November last year are now published as an editorial in Acta Physiologica. In the editorial, a number of proposals on how to change the future research environment are presented. Without doubt it is not a straight forward process to change the current research environment and it requires more than an editorial. But it is a start.
