2021 marked the 100-year anniversary of the world-changing discovery of insulin. Therefore, rounding off this year with the DDA Annual Day, celebrating our talented network of diabetes researchers and their research, seemed just right. Thank you to all who came! – And congratulations to the talented junior scientists Nicolai Albrechtsen and Signe Schmidt who received the two 2022 DDA Awards for their exceptional efforts within the field of diabetes research. With such gifted junior researchers, we are excited to see which ground-breaking discoveries the next 100 years will bring!

With this newsletter, we celebrate the high quality of the work of DDA-funded early-career researchers within the field of diabetes. We also present next year’s educational and networking programme that includes a wide variety of highly relevant topics: R-programming, drug development, big data and artificial intelligence, obesity, diabetes and exercise, summer schools, winter schools and much, much more.
