Resilience, agility, flexibility – popular buzzwords often used to describe the characteristics that the next generation of researchers should encompass. However, looking back into 2020 and the impact of COVID-19 on the research environment, I must say – the junior researchers already got it! It is impressing to witness how they tackle the situation with restrictions, cancellations, uncertainty and delays. I am not worried about the future!

I this newsletter, we highlight the DDA support to the next generation of junior researchers and the two awardees who won the two DDA Awards 2020.  We also announce the next call for grant applications and the celebration of a century with insulin in 2021.
