First of all, a warm welcome to Katrine Obel-Grønbæk, who joined the DDA Executive Management Team as a communications officer on August 9.
 
Some of the classic DDA courses and networking activities are coming up. Thus, we are looking forward to facilitating the PhD Summer School at Gl. Avernæs in the end of August, and we have recently opened registration for the PhD course on Basal Metabolism & Molecular Mechanisms in Diabetes in October, which this year will be organised in collaboration with Danish Cardiovascular Academy (DCA).
 
Further, we have opened registration for the DDA Annual Day where early-career researchers will have the opportunity to share their research results with colleagues and win poster prizes. Already now, you also have the chance to nominate a scientist who you believe deserves acknowledgements and, at the Annual Day, DDA will give out the two prestigious DDA awards to talented early-career scientists.
 
As always, I encourage you to stay updated about our upcoming events on our website. We will soon announce exciting new events, such as a symposium on RNA mechanisms and therapeutics in metabolic diseases and a career day with focus on working in industry.
