April – the month where many of us hope to really enjoy the many goods of spring – warmer weather, long bright days and flowers and plants growing around us! The DDA also enjoys this time of year – we enjoy that the first six events of the year were successfully launched and that the next couple of months offer even more exciting DDA events, such as the DDA PhD Summer School and our symposium on co-morbidities in diabetes.

Last year, the DDA granted three industrial postdoctoral fellowships for the first time in collaboration with a life science company MedImmune. This year, the DDA hopes to further establish collaboration with the life science industry by allocating a number of industrial postdoctoral fellowships and industrial PhD scholarships to private companies receiving support from the Innovation Fund Denmark. We look forward to following these young researchers, who will receive a unique education and will build bridges between industry and research.
