WHO CAN ATTEND?
The course is intended for early career researchers working in any field within diabetes, metabolism, and classical endocrinology, including basic, translational, clinical and interdisciplinary science.
Participants will be selected based on a brief statement of motivation. Participants should make sure that they can attend the workshop in its entirety.
Please note, that you are not guaranteed a seat at the workshop if you do not meet the target group requirements. Priority is given to participants employed at Danish research and health institutions or in the life science industry. If the event is overbooked, the DDEA reserves its right to select participants based on the defined requirements.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION
This half-day workshop will include key training in:
- Gaining confidence and beating nerves while presenting
- Finding your story
- Identifying the most exciting or engaging ways to present
- Understanding what your audience hear may be different to what you say
- Structuring a story in a clear way
- Making your audience care about what you have to say by building a strong connection to the public
- Showing your true personality and presenting “who you really are”
- Creating strong “Call to action” moments that get results
- Tips, tricks and secrets that professional speakers use to make their talks memorable and exciting
- Interactive sessions and practical skills you can use again and again
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to create a short, engaging talk of approximately 3 to 5 minutes, based on a subject of their choice. They will also have the skills and the framework to write longer speeches and presentations, and make sure that they can identify and focus on the most important parts of their communication skills.
These new skills can be used in any kind of presentation, including pitches, team meetings, YouTube videos, social media posts, podcasts, media interviews, teaching, conference speaking, educating, training and more.

Adam Montandon has coached hundreds of speakers and storytellers from CEO’s, managers, start-up entrepreneurs, PhD students, expert speakers, leaders, TEDx Talkers and international professionals. No-show fee
Please note that it is free of charge to participate in the workshop; however,the DDEA will charge a no-show fee of 1000 DKK if you do not show up and have not unregistered from the course prior to its start.
