North Europe Young Diabetologists (NEYD) has a long tradition for joining young researchers from United Kingdom, Netherlands/Belgium, and Denmark for a 3-days annual meeting. The nature of the meeting allows for discussion of research in an intimate and stimulating setting for young researchers. Participants present their own research (selected from submitted abstracts) and discuss it with peers and senior established scientists. The meeting facilitates networking and collaboration opportunities with peer young scientists and senior experts.

Dates: 24-26 May 2023
Place: Bautahøj Kursuscenter & Hotel, Bautahøjvej 39, DK-3630 Jægerspris, Denmark

This annual meeting is intended for younger researchers working within any field of diabetes, including both clinical, basic, and translational research. The participants are selected based on abstract submission. Priority is given to participants employed at Danish research and health institutions or in the life science industry. Priority is also given to participants who have not attended NEYD before, but you may participate in the meeting more than once. Participants that are selected to attend the meeting will receive further information after the registration deadline.

The NEYD Annual Meeting will be attended by 30 young diabetes researchers (10 from each country) who will be invited to present their research (15 min oral presentation + 5 min discussion). Participants will be joined by three senior discussants and six meeting organisers (who are diabetes researchers at post-doc level). The senior discussants will contribute by giving state of the art lectures within their research area of expertise or pro-con debates. The meeting supports research education of young researchers by sharing knowledge and giving opportunity to present own word and discuss in front of peers supported by experts.

Young diabetes researchers from research groups based in Denmark are urged to submit an abstract. Diabetes relevant research is mandatory. Based on the scientific quality of submitted abstracts, 10 researchers are invited for the meeting. The meeting facilitates networking and collaborations across the diabetes area and between researchers of United Kingdom, Netherlands/Belgium, and Denmark.
