WHO CAN ATTEND?

This symposium is intended for clinical practitioners and researchers, basic as well as translational researchers, at all career levels,  engaged or interested in extracellular vesicles (EVs) or in any field of diabetes, endocrinology and metabolism.

Participants are selected on a first come, first served basis; however, participants who submitted an abstract are prioritised as attendees in the event the symposium becomes overbooked.

Please note, that you are not guaranteed a seat at the symposium if you do not meet the target group requirements. Priority is given to participants employed at Danish research and health institutions or in the life science industry, but a number of seats are reserved for participants employed at research and health institutions or in the life science industry abroad. If the event is overbooked, the DDEA reserves its right to select participants based on the defined requirements.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

EV research is a new research field with the potential to generate a paradigm shift in the current understanding of pathophysiological mechanisms along with a huge biomarker potential. This symposium brings together researchers from several fields to exchange perspectives on some of these topics. The symposium will provide an introduction to EVs in endocrinology and metabolism, combining clinical and EV approaches in fetal programming, cellular crosstalk, and diabetes and metabolism. In addition, workshops will facilitate expansion of clinical EV research by introducing participants to methodological aspects and handling of big data from EV analyses. Finally, early career researchers will present in poster and oral settings. Altogether, our aim is to support future networking and collaboration across disciplines within the EV field.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Dinner registration

The DDEA organises a networking dinner on June 1, 2023. Participation in the dinner is free of charge. Please sign up for the dinner upon registration, and indicate whether you have any dietary requirements

Accommodation

A limited number of hotel rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis for accepted participants who do not live in Aalborg and who register no later than 10 April 2023. Costs for one night accommodation (check-in June 1, check-out June 2)  will be covered by DDEA. Please note that you will be informed about overnight accommodation by the DDEA after the registration deadline.

Certification

A course certificate will be sent to participants, upon request, at the end of the course.

No-show fee

Please note that it is free of charge to participate in the course however the DDEA will charge a no-show fee of 500 DKK if you do not show up and have not unregistered from the course prior to its start.
